KNOW ALL ABOUT INDIA BEFORE YOU LEAVE

Description

Delhi  or New Delhi, the Capital city of India is a city where ancient and modern blend seamlessly together. Delhi is an important port of entry to India as Indira Gandhi International Airport serves to all major International airlines connecting India with rest of the world. Terminal 3 of International airport  servers travelers for both International and domestic flights while Terminal 1 ( T1 ) & Terminal 2 ( T2), just at a short drive of 10 minutes , serve as domestic terminals.

A metropolitan city of today has always been inhabited since 6th century BC. Through most of its history, Delhi has served as a capital of various kingdoms and empires. It has been captured, ransacked and rebuilt several times, particularly during the medieval period. Modern Delhi is a cluster of a number of cities spread across the metropolitan region such as Delhi, New Delhi and Delhi NCR.

Even today, one can have a fascinating glimpse into the past in Old Delhi, with its labyrinth of narrow lanes, old havelis, and colourful bazaars. Rickshaws wind their way through this crowded, bustling capital of the Mughals, where life continues, much as it did hundreds of years ago. It is home to three World Heritage monuments— Qutub Minar, Red Fort and Humayun’s Tomb that have survived many centuries, and give an idea of architectural wonders created by emperors in the past. New Delhi, with its tree-lined avenues, imposing structures and buildings such as the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House and India Gate, reflect Delhi’s colonial past.

Delhi is also the home to believers of all religions and faiths. Numerous temples like Akshardham, Lotus Temple, Gurudwara Bangla Sahib and Jamma Mosque are the landmarks of Delhi’s multi faceted cultures.
