Nestled between Karakoram mountain range and Himalayas at an altitude of 3500 meters is the most northern state of India. Ladakh in literal meaning – Land of High Passes extends from Siachen Glacier in the north to the Great Himalayas in the south. Being strategically located at the cross-roads between Tibet and Central Asia, Ladakh in the past gained its importance as an important trade route.

With its culture and history closely related to Tibet, Ladakh is a land of high mountain passes, snow covered peaks, valleys , lakes , rivers , historic Buddhist monasteries and festivals. Highest motor-able road in the world through the Khardung La Pass between Leh and Nubra Valley is visited by thousand of tourist from all across the world.

The Tibetan culture and historic Buddhist monasteries which are also the home of Lamas and Buddhist monks are the center of Buddhist culture and learning. The valleys and confluence of rivers like Zanskar and Indus makes this region an important spiritual center in India.

Day 1

Arrive at New Delhi International Airport

Arrive Delhi International airport. Our representative shall meet you upon arrival for further transfer to your hotel.

If time permit, after relax at the hotel, start your tour of Delhi by visiting Gurudwara Bangla Sahib (Sikh Temple) in the centre of Delhi. A beautiful white building flanked with a golden dome has a pool (sarovar) inside the complex, is one of the main worship place for Sikhs.Overnight at hotel.

Day 2


After breakfast in the hotel, proceed for a full day tour of Old & New Delhi visiting the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site Humayun’s Tomb of the Mughal era & predecessor of the world famous Taj Mahal, the Jama Masjid, the greatest mosque in India completed in 1658 by Shah Jahan the builder of Taj Mahal, rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk and the Raj Ghat, the simple memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of Nation. Later after lunch in your hotel or at a local restaurant, drive past the stately government buildings of the British Era designed by Edwin Lutyens including the India Gateand the President Hosue.Also visit 72.5 meters tall towering minaret of Qutab Minar, UNESCO World Heritage Site and tallest minaret in Asia. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3

Flight from Delhi to Leh)

After breakfast, transfer to Delhi airport for an early morning flight to Leh , the capital of Ladakh. Arrive Leh (3500 m) and transfer to your hotel. Because of the high altitude, it is highly recommended to relax at your hotel to get acclimatize. Later in evening, discourse / introduction of Buddhism in Ladakh by a Lama.  Overnight at hotel.

Day 4


After breakfast, attend the morning prayers at Lakhang temple in Thiksey monastery. Atop a hill, this Tibetan style monastery is also replica of Potala Palace in Lhasa in Tibet. This 12 storey monastery complex at 3600 m altitude houses a great collection of Buddhist art including stupas, statues and wall paintings. Monastery also houses a grand 15 meters high statue of Maitreya Buddha. After doing mediation with Buddhist monks at Thiksey monastery, visit 1000 year old Hemis Monastery which is the largest monastic institution in Ladakh. The monastery houses a beautiful statue of Guru Rinpoche ( Padmasambhava ). Hemis monastery also host the famous Hemis Festival in the month of June every year where hundreds of Buddhist monks gather to perform mystic mask dance. Before returning to you hotel, visit 17th century Leh Palace which was the former palace of royal family of Ladakh. Built with stone, wood, mud and sand, Leh Palace resembles Potala Palace of Lahasa in Tibet. Overnight at hotel..

Day 5

Leh- Lamayuru- Alchi

After breakfast, drive to Lamayuru. Enroute stop at Sangam – The confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers followed by a visit to a Sikh Temple – Gurudwara Patthar Sahib. Arrive Lamayuru Monastery, the oldest monastery in the region and said to be created by Guru Padmasambhava, an incarnate of Buddha. Lamayuru is also called the Eternal Monastery is the home of around 150 permanent monks residents. Lamayuru is also believed to be associated with Christianity as some scholars are of the opinion that Jesus came to Lamayuru to study Buddhism during his missing years of life. After lunch, continue driving to Alchi village in Indus river valley. The monastic temple complex of Alchi was founded between 985 and 1055 AD by Guru Ringchen Zangpo.  Alchi monastery is the home to huge statue of Buddha, Tibetan artwork, wood carvings and minutely carved paintings. Overnight at your hotel in Alchi.

Day 6


After breakfast at your hotel, drive back to Leh. Rest of the day free to walk around Leh market which is full local and Tibetan artifacts. Overnight at your hotel in Leh.

Day 7

Leh- Khardung La Pass - Nubra Valley ( 140 Kms / 5-6 Hours )

After breakfast at your hotel, Drive to Nubra Valley via Khardung La Pass ( 5360 m ) which is the highest mototrable road in the world. Khardung La Pass is historically important as it lies on major caravan route from Leh to Central Asia. It is believed that around 10000 camels and horses used to take this route annually between Leh and Central Asia. A small population of Bactrian camels can still be found at Hunder in Nubra Valley which is also called as Orchard of Ladakh. Arrive Nubra valley and check-in at your tented accommodation. Later in evening, visit to nearby White sand dunes of the Hunder Cold desert for an adventurous ride on Double Hump Bactrian camel and relive the dreams and glories of the merchants and monks as they traveled through these very sands in search of Gold, Glory and God in the days of yore. Overnight at your tented accommodation.

Day 8

Nubra Valley

After breakfast, drive to the picturesque village of Sumur located across the Shyok and Nubra Rivers. Drive towards the most northern road on the Saichen Glacier route and then hike towards the hidden lake – Yarab Tso – which is one of the high altitude and sacred lakes in the Nubra Valley. It holds crystal clear holy water, secluded within a rocky terrain. Later a lovely drive through the farmlands in small villages will bring you to the farmhouse of Kalon family which allows you to the glimpse of rich history of region. Enjoy a delicious homely lunch and return to your tented accommodation for 0vernight.

Day 9

Nubra Valley - Leh

Today you start your day early in morning with prayers (meditation) near the Maitreya Buddha at Diskit Gompa ( monastery ) perched on a hill in village of Diskit. It is the sub-gompa of Thiksey monastery and is considered to be the oldest and largest monastery in Nubra valley. The monastery belongs to Gelugpa ( Yello Hat ) sect of Tibetan Buddhism and has a statue of the Cho Rinpoche “the crowned Buddha” in the prayer hall, a huge drum and several images of fierce guardian deities. An elevated cupola of the monastery depicts a fresco of the Tashilhunpo monastery of Tibet. Return to your tented accommodation for breakfast. After breakfast, check-out from your camp and say goodbye to the enchanting and breath-taking mountainous and rugged terrain of Nubra, as you drive back to Leh. Overnight at your hotel in Leh.

Day 10

Flight from Leh to Delhi ( Extension to other cities of India or flight back to home )

After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to Leh airport for flight to Delhi. Upon arrival at Delhi airport either take an extension to other beautiful, historical or spiritual places in India or connect your onward International flight to home.
