Srinagar in Kashmir on the foothills of Himalayas in India is also called as “Paradise on Earth “. Nestled in the picturesque valley of Kashmir surrounded by mountains of Himalayan range, Srinagar is the summer capital of the northern Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir. Nature has endowed Srinagar with all its blessings. Entire Kashmir valley and so Srinagar is home to pristine gardens, charming lakes, intricately carved wooden houseboats and colourful Shikaras (Gandola type small row boats boats) on Dal Lake.
Srinagar also the host to the only floating vegetable and flower market in India. It is a memorable experience to see the gathering of the farmers from nearby villages coming by their small boats to Dal Lake to sale freshly grown vegetables and flowers. Royal Spring Golf Course in Srinagar is a picturesque 18-whole golf course with stunning views of Himalayas.
Being at the foothills of the snow-capped peaks of Himalayas, Srinagar is very pleasant to visit between March and November. December, January & February are the coldest months with snow falls pulling temperature down to 5-6 degree centigrades below zero.
Srinagar airport is well connected by many major cities of India. Picturesque like a painting, drive from Srinagar to Leh is also a popular journey for travelling to misty mountain region of Ladakh famous for its Buddhist monasteries, treks in Himalayas and Snow Leopards.
