Udaipur with its five artificial lakes surrounded by Aravali range of mountains in northern state of Rajasthan is also called as the Venice of East and is considered as one of the most romantic place in the world. The city was founded by Maharaja Udai Singh II in 1559 AD who shifted the capital of the princely state of Mewar from Chittorgarh to new built city of Udaipur.
