Udaipur with its five artificial lakes surrounded by Aravali range of mountains in northern state of Rajasthan is also called as the Venice of East and is considered as one of the most romantic place in the world. The city was founded by Maharaja Udai Singh II in 1559 AD who shifted the capital of the princely state of Mewar from Chittorgarh to new built city of Udaipur. Popularly known as City of Lakes , Udaipur is also known for its history, culture, rajput era palaces and gardens and architectural temples.
The famous Lake Palace, located in the middle of Lake Pichola is one of the most beautiful sights of Udaipur. The beautiful City Palace and Sajjangarh (Monsoon Palace) add to the architectural beauty and grandeur of the city.
